Backrooms: the RPG, is a free tabletop role-playing game based on the urban legend that tells of how if you "no-clip" out of reality, you can end up in strange and maddening dimensions that often seem parodies of ours; buildings with stairs that never end, doors that once crossed disappear and all kinds of splitting encounters that will shake the psyche of those who try to understand them. Apart from the transcendental, unspeakable horrorific nature of such places, the Backrooms are plagued with gruesome and morbid creatures that will try to hunt unwary preys. If this project is supported, I would love to continue creating content and see how it evolves and grows with the community, everyone can create all kinds of additions to the game and share with others.
Game system
The game has its own system whose main mechanics are simple dice rolls using 1D20 to resolve whether the actions of the characters or other events are successful or not, it has been created to be as simple and easy to understand.
As this is a realistic survival game, characters who are injured must recover through medical treatment and natural regeneration, a slow process, so characters must be careful. Any critical hit or shot from a pistol can be devastatingly lethal to a human being, so having good reflexes and being able to dodge such attacks will always be beneficial. Sometimes the most sensible thing to do would be to flee if they are overwhelmed. In order to have the situation stabilized, the players must be cautious and administer the provisions and ammunition, in this way, if the group is well organized, manages to spend the least provisions in the long term and have a good handling with the weapons, they will be a lot better prepared than if they spent their equipment mindlessly and missed all shots, quickly running out of ammunition.
The game also has a mental health system for human characters, who must attend to their psychic condition as well as their physical condition; If someone is exposed to stressful situations, horribly maddening creatures and inexplicable events, it will cause their sanity to decrease, with the risk of starting to suffer from mental disorders, which will cause certain penalties for the deranged, so players will not only have to worry about his body, but also his mind, because if someone is mad for a long period of time, he will totally lose control of himself
